I was just doing a random search of Mark Steyn because I read his articles and have read America Alone and I stumbled upon your site and read some of your book reviews and I’m impressed. I suppose more than anything it’s because most people around our age (I’m 20) don’t really read all that much, much less care enough about the content of the book to discuss it with people publicly to incite dialogue. As a Texan, it’s only natural that I’ve never been to Canada (we’re kind of content with Texas) and we’re pretty indifferent toward Canada but the whole issue with Steyn and the, “hate speech” got me riled up and I must admit that I began to lose faith in Canada. If there are more like you up there, it’s certainly hopeful. Hoorah for conservative Canadians! And much less professionally; hoorah for good-looking girls who love to read! Lord knows they’re a rarety.
Thank you very much! =) It’s true, things are looking very bleak up in Canada – but there are some good people up here trying to change things. I’m optimistic cause I have to be, but we still have a ways to go. Hurrah for Mark Steyn fighting the good fight!
Hey Emily, Cute blog… I liked reading about your Mythology run down… Adding you to my blogroll and look forward to reading more; your categories are totally my thing
I am giving a speech about CS Lewis this week, and so I ran a google image search to get some pictures of Lewis for a powerpoint. I came across your site. I have to say I love your blog! I’ve been reading it non-stop since discovery. Its great to see that there are others out there who admire Lewis as much as myself. You once said that Lewis can stack more in once sentence than you could in a paragraph, I feel the same way!
I’m also going to have to agree with Chris up there. I’m in the same age group (19-20) and it is almost shameful how few people in our age group read. I think of it as a lost art that desperately needs to be rediscovered in our society.
Keep up the great work!

I love your site. Keep it up !
So, I know that guy Chris left this like two years ago or something:
“As a Texan, it’s only natural that I’ve never been to Canada (we’re kind of content with Texas)”
We’re NOT content with Texas. We fucking love Canada, and hopefully I get to show my Texas love to Canada soon!!!! It’s not natural for us not to have been there, so what are we waiting for????? It is, however, unnatural if we have not been to Mexico once or twice. Or twelve times.
Yay for your blog being BACK!!!!
